Nisovo village is located about 25 km south of the city of Ruse in the unique and picturesque Nature Park Rusenski Lom (route Ruse-DZS-Shtraklevo - Nisovo)

Nature park Rusenski Lom

The park bears the name of the river Lom, which is the last right tributary of the Danube river. It has an area 22 267 acres, located on the rivers Mali, Cheren and Beli Lom with a total length of 42 km. The park is recognized as interested and valuable items of high aesthetic value - there is a beautiful riverside terraces, high vertical rocks, meanders, areas rich in species diversity, caves, rock formations and historic monuments of national and international significance.

Flora

Flora in the Nature park Rusenski Lom has 902 species. The most widespread are endemic species: Kovachev tagasaste(Chamaecytisus kovacevii (Velen.) Rothm.), Siberan Calf-breeder (Polygala sibirica L.), Dieckian Mullein(Verbascum Dieckianum Borb.& Degen), Austragalus Haarbachi, Forest Anemone (Anemone sylvestris), Spring Pheasant's Eye (Adonis vernalis), Healing Althea (Althea officinalis), Gas Plant (Dictamnus albus), Rock Pink (Dianthus petraeus), Pasque Flower (Pulsatilla vulgaris), Hungarian Iris (Iris variegate), Balkan Lizard Orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum), Green-Winged Orchid (Orchis morio), Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis).

Fauna

The animal world is very diverse and rich in rare species in the area of river Lom. Most of the birds are: Red Shelduck, Long-legged Buzzard, Black Stork, Falcon Hobby(Faico subbuteo). The valley has 70 mammal species. Some are related to water - otter, water rats and others. Another species live underground like blind dog and mole (Aopa europaea). Bats have been associated with rock and caves. The rich diversity of the wild life includes: gopher, field mouse, blind dog, sqiurrel, bat , wild cat, fox, wild boar, wolf dog, red deer, roe deer.
